The truly amazing GeneratePress Theme by Tom Usborne is supported since the very first Toolbar Extras version.
GeneratePress was first released in April of 2014 and has since built up a loyal fan base. It is one of the most popular – and best – themes available for free at wordpress-dot-org. Users and developers alike love that it comes as a super mininmalistic, lightning fast, well-coded and documented offering. It is one of the most flexible themes around, almost like a “framework”. For users of Page Builders like Elementor, Beaver Builder and similar, GeneratePress is one of the best choices available.
GeneratePress – the Free Version
The GeneratePress Theme is free in its normal, “basic” version in the WordPress.org Theme Directory. Since the theme has no real settings page the Toolbar Integration focuses on Customizer deep links. This comes in really handy if you want to customize your header and make a quick jump directly to the proper panel or section.
Resources for GeneratePress are also added as additional items – if you have resources enabled in the Toolbar Extras settings (which is the default anyway).
GP Premium – the Premium Add-On
This is a plugin extension with lots of additional premium modules for GeneratePress. Included is the awesome Elements feature (post type), the Demo Sites importer, as well as various additions for Menus, Backgrounds, WooCommerce shops and so on. Any enabled or disabled module gets well respected, so if a module is deactivated in GeneratePress it won’t appear as a Toolbar item. This is how it should be, of course.
